Child Labor Law Update
(12/20/2011)The deadlines have now expired for getting members of the United States Congress to sign on to the House and Senate letters opposing the U.S. Department of Labor''''s proposed rulemaking on the child labor laws pertaining to agricultural labor. Thank you to the NAAE members and others who contacted their members of Congress to request they sign on to the letters.

Section Fair Contracts
(7/5/2011)A new IDOA Fair Contract is required each each school on an annual basis,. The contract you filed for this year will not be accepted for next year.
Schools will not have access to make fair entries until an FY 12 Fair Contract is received at the Illinois FFA Center.
Attached to this message and available as a download at www.iavat.org is the FY 12 Illinois Department of Agriculture section fair contracts. A schools wishing to participate in section fairs must have a copy on file with the Illinois FFA Center. Copies are furnished to the IDOA from our office. A signed copy of the contract should be mailed to the Illinois FFA Center or can be brought to the IAVAT Conference. Your help in getting the contracts completed and returned to the FFA Center is greatly appreciated.
